This is a portrait of a woman. She wants to read the books in Burmese and reluctant to read the books in foreign languages. Yet she doesn’t like Burmese food especially curry and salad. She is so soft - her tone, the way she carries herself, the way she moves around - yet her thoughts and her take on life are so spiky.

When the artist was painting this, she came to realize that pain can also be joyful and colorful. While you’re grieving, it’s also possible for you to enjoy the memories you have shared with someone in your life. Not every pain is dark.
